The Origin of Qatari Cuisine

Qatari cuisine is a style of cooking that is created by old Qatari citizens. It is is a part of Qatar culture and community. The most popular Qatari dish is Machboos, which consists of rice cooked with Qatari spices served with either chicken or meat. Arabic or the Middle Eastern cuisine is food that most of the Arabian people have in common due to their strong relationship and their similar culture. Qatari food is based on the incorporation of different dishes from different countries. Qatari cuisine is built on different dishes from different cultures from around the world, however, the Qatari cuisine puts it own twists on the dish. Qatar is located in The Middle East, which means that Qatar experienced harsh climatic conditions such as low rainfall and because of that Qatar depend heavily on imports from different countries. For example, Saloona, is one of the Qatari traditional food that contains vegetables as the main ingredient of it which Qatar does not produce.

Thareed Review

Since Ramadan is around the corner, I am going to review a Qatari dish that people usually have during Ramadan and that is Thareed. Here is a Lamb Thareed when it is ready to serve. You can visit the website for Thareed recipe.  Thareed consists of khobuz Ragag, which is a crispy thin Arabic bread, soaked in either meat or chicken soup called Saloona. Saloona is a meat or chicken sauce that mixed with vegetable such as potatoes, tomatoes and carrots. When you combine both khobuz Ragag and Saloona you will have a delicious out come which is Thareed. Thareed is one of my favorite dishes that I eat every single day during Ramadan because it is light in the stomach after fasting around 15 hours. Additionally, Thareed has many benefits. For instance, we eat Thareed in Ramadan instead of other dishes because it is lighter and it contains khobuz Ragag which is less dense than white bread and rice. Moreover,  Thareed provides a complete meal of carbohydrates, starch, fiber and proteins
